Submit a Nene Sighting
Nene population monitoring is difficult as they are widely distributed and no one has kept track of public sightings… until now! We are using this information to provide an additional resource to the conservation community and better inform habitat restoration projects, predator monitoring, and trapping.
We are looking for any and all photos of nene as long as you can remember when and where they were taken! We make sure to credit each contributor for their sightings on the individual nene’s page (if they are banded).
So far we have 8602 contributed sightings of 2468 different individuals from over 800 different people! Please share this page with your friends and family who may also have nene sightings to contribute. Mahalo!
Name and email are only required if you want to be credited for the sighting in the dataset and on the individual nēnē pages. Email address collected on this form will only be used to private communication in the event additional details about the sighting are needed. As long as the photos were taken at the same time and place, up to 20 photos or videos of different nēnē can be submitted at once using the upload field below. If you have more than 20 photos or videos you can easily upload them all of our hightail account.
